Twice isn't nice.
About 5 years ago I rear ended someone coming back from Thanksgiving at my mother’s house. It wasn’t that bad of an accident, I pretty much slid into the back of the car ahead of me while trying to slow down with traffic. The off-duty police officer I hit was very nice about the whole thing. I really didn’t do any damage to his car, but my front bumper was left with the indent of his trailer hitch for years as a momento of our meeting.
This morning I again rear ended someone while on the way to work. Traffic started slowing down and I braked, and if I was able to stop where I intended to stop, things would have been fine. However, I lost traction and slid about 15 feet into the back of the car ahead of me. When the off-duty corrections officer stepped out of his car I couldn't believe it. Great. LAW ENFORCEMENT, AGAIN! Turns out I really didn’t do any damage to his car, but my front bumper is left with the indent of his trailer hitch…most likely for years, as a momento of our meeting.
Who says lightening can’t strike in the same place twice?
